Post office queues ...
Are getting worse am sure.
Give or take 15 mins am almost always there same day same time (this also rings true when have called on a different day too) and very rare is there no queue waiting. Today it excelled itself (possibly cos I was rushing) and was a 40min wait grrrrrr. What are the queues like where you live ?

Re: Post office queues ...
Whenever possible, I use my local Post Office. Always a queue but usually only about 5/10 mins. If I do need to use the main Post Office in town then, yes, queue there is worse, anything up to half an hour!

Re: Post office queues ...
Where we live and it would be very unusual to find a queue in the post office, but then it is a very small one that also acts as the 'corner shop' (only the corner's three miles away!).
What the queues are like in the post office in town I have no idea. We've not needed to use a post office for years now, even the car's taxed over the phone or online.

Re: Post office queues ...
The local Post Office here get so few people in there that it's been combined with hte Newsagents, next door.
Where so many benefits & pensions are now paid directly into bank accounts, there's not as much need for quesing up to get your cash. I've even found quite a few local grannies are taking to online banking as well. Plus, with the extortionate prices Royal Mail charge for their parcel delivery service, I've found courier services to be cheaper - plus they collect from your door. No wonder Royal Mail are losing out on business. |

Re: Post office queues ...
Our village post office is also a general store(very small) and not many use it.We rarely use it and never use the big PO in town.
I had to send my desktop PC back to my son in law,a while ago. I wrapped it very well and wanted to pay insurance on it. Sandy, the post mistress asked me how much it weighed. I didn't know. She had no scale strong enough to weigh it. She asked me to take it home and weigh it on my bathroom scales. OH took control and asked about weight limits. He declared we would pay for the 15 kilo weight, regardless .He knew it was less than that, but to save time we called it 15 kilos.
